Youth Ministry

Bible Study

The youth group of FBC has a variety of Bible study opportunities for youth grades 6-12. On Sunday mornings we have Sunday school from 9:45-10:45, separated into Middle School (6-8 grade), and High School (9-12 grade) class rooms. On Sunday nights we meet together from 6:00-7:30 for fellowship, food, Bible study, and games. On Wednesday nights the youth meet together from 6:00-7:30 on the 3rd floor of the sanctuary building for Bible study and fellowship.

Mission Opportunities

The youth of First Baptist Church have a variety of opportunities for missions throughout the year. From Operation Inasmuch, to mission based summer camps, to community mission projects, to Stop Hunger Now, the youth are provided with a variety of ways to serve the Kingdom of God through missions.

Fun & Fellowship

The youth group at First Baptist Church is also about having fun together. During the school year we have at least one fun event a month. These events include go-carting, laser tag, lock-ins, paintball, mini golf tournament, Durham Bulls baseball game, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, trips to the lake, and more. Youth must sign up for these events with Marcus in order to ensure there is enough transportation. During the summer these fun events occur once a week.

Creative Ministries

At First Baptist Church we believe the youth should be involved in worship and we offer a variety of ways for them to be involved in the worship service. On special occassions the Youth practice Handbells in the choir suite to perform at special events. Youth also help out with the A/V system, as well as reading scripture, prayers, and leading in the Call to Worship.
