Mission Projects

We are committed to nurturing the personal, innovative, hands-on, and sacrificial investment of each of our members in the mission of God beginning our doorstep and extending to the ends of the earth. We value and encourage the direct participation of individual members, small groups, and the entire congregation in mission activity.

Some of our projects are on going in nature. One example is our Bread Basket Ministry: We collaborate with our friends at First Baptist, 900 College Street, in their ongoing efforts to feed the hungry in our community. Each month we bring specific staple food items to contribute. Please contact the office to learn what items we are collecting during the current month. We also provide financial support through our Mission Development Fund.

Another ongoing project is our weekly Soup Kitchen. What began with three participants has blossomed to a weekly average of 220 or more being fed on campus and over 65 meals being delivered.  Meals are served every Thursday from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall (excluding Thanksgiving day and Christmas day). Volunteers to help cook, serve or clean up are always welcome! FMI contact the church office (910) 592-8124 or info@clintonfirstbaptist.org.

Other projects are temporary or short-term, such as volunteer trips. Members give of their time to go to places as far away as South Africa, Ukraine, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and other foreign destinations to share the love of God. Others respond to natural disasters, coordinating relief efforts with the Sampson Disaster Relief Coalition and the Baptist Men of North Carolina.  We provide support for drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs at Open Door and Valley of Hope Ministries. Also, we provide support for Baptist Children's HomesCity On A Hill Ministry, U-Care Domestic Violence Shelter, and the Eastern Baptist Association. Most, if not all, of these efforts are funded by our First Baptist Mission Development Fund.
