Mission Goals / Values

Our goal is to engage every Christian in supporting and participating in the mission of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and sharing the love and compassion that characterized His life.  This goal springs directly from the Great Commission given by Jesus Himself:

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."  (Matthew 28:18-20, NIV)

This good news, as we understand it, has physical, social and spiritual dimensions.  Our mission, therefore, includes initiatives to meet the physical, social and spiritual needs of people.  We truly believe that giving even a cup of cold water in Jesus' name is a significant act of Christian love.  We take the words of Matthew 25 very seriously, believing that each time we clothe the naked, show hospitality to the stranger, feed the hungry, visit the sick, or minister to the prisoner we have done a deed of Christian charity that touches God.

We believe that this mission begins in our immediate neighborhood and stretches to the furthest points on the globe.  There is no place too near or far to share the good news about Jesus.
